February 19, 8:30 AM     Birding with Hernando Audubon: Join Hernando Audubon president Linda Vanderveen for a walk around the Chinsegut property to locate and identify the abundant bird life taking advantage of our inviting environment.

February 19, 10 AM        Gardening for the birds, bees and butterflies: Join Lilly Browning of the Florida-Friendly Landscape Program to learn what plants will best make your home an inviting location for the wildlife you love to see.

February 20, 7:55 AM     Wings Over Florida Fieldtrip: Join Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail Coordinators Whitney and Andy on a local area tour to see a wild bird variety and learn about trail opportunities and the “Wings Over Florida” certificate program. Program runs until 12 PM and requires advance registration and 10$ fee. Those attending will be awarded their first “Wings Over Florida” certificate. Register by calling (352)754-6722.

March 2, 9 AM        Wednesday Wildlife Walk: For 1 hour on the first Wednesday of each month Chinsegut Conservation Center offers a guided hike to see what migratory wildlife is making use of the environmental area. Join us for a casual guided stroll through Chinsegut.

March 5, 10 AM- 2 PM    Archery Field Day: Chinsegut Conservation Center is opening its archery ranges to the public. Both the stationary training range and the 20 lane “3-D” course will be open to the public for the first time ever. This event is open to all ages, no registration required. Learn to use a bow and arrow with the center’s equipment or bring your own equipment to try out on the “3-D” course.

March 18, 10 AM            Spring Insects: Join Bill Lester of UF/IFAS in exploring the abundance and beauty of insects which are returning for spring.

March 19, 10 AM            Birds of Prey with Doris Mager: Doris Mager, Bird of Prey Expert and educator, will be making her final trip to Chinsegut Conservation Center with ET the Great-Horned Owl before retiring to the West. This is your last chance to meet this incredible woman who made it her life’s work to Save Our American Raptors, SOAR.

March 26, 9AM – 4 PM   Backpacking 101: Join explorer and outdoors woman extraordinaire Jeanene of Not-a-clue-Adventures for this incredible all-encompassing course on how to pack and backpack. This course requires pre-registration and a 35$ fee; Lunch Included. Call (352)754-6722 to reserve your space.
