Audubon’s Ahhochee Hill Wildlife Sanctuary is 270 acres of mixed habitats, including open fields, a cypress lake, and long leaf pine forest. The property was left for the sole purpose of providing a protected area for wildlife to live. Volunteers are needed to help remove invasive plants and improve habitat for the wildlife that call Ahhochee Hill home. Anyone interested in gardening or creating and maintaining wildlife habitat are welcome to join the group, Wednesday mornings from 9-11:30 weather permitting. The Sanctuary is located at 24268 Lake Lindsey Rd in Brooksville. For more information call 352-797-3545.
