(BROOKSVILLE, FLORIDA) – Come and discover (or rediscover) the great talent of some lovely leading ladies time seems to have forgotten. Modern audiences can usually name Betty Davis or Katharine Hepburn as stars of yesteryear, but there were other actresses from the era whose star was just as high and bright. Each will be introduced with one of their fine performances accompanied with a brief discussion about their lives, their acting skills, the industry they worked in and the craftsmanship of their directors.

Women’s History Month Movie @ Your Library

(BROOKSVILLE, FLORIDA) – Celebrate Women’s History Month with a movie @ Your Library. This movie is based on real events, in the history of women fighting for the right to vote.

Academy Award nominees Carey Mulligan and Helena Bonham Carter, and three-time Academy Award winner Meryl Streep star in this powerful drama, inspired by true events, about the women willing to lose everything in their fight for equality in early-20th-century Britain. Galvanized by outlaw fugitive Emmeline (Meryl Streep), Maud (Carey Mulligan) joins the U.K.’s growing Suffragette movement alongside women from all walks of life who sacrificed their jobs, homes, children –and even their lives for the right to vote.
