We need help with two projects at Cypress Lakes Preserve and I’ve scheduled two workdays for May 6 and May 13, both on Friday, at 9:00 AM. Work will be completed by noon.
On May 6, we’ll trim back the brush along some of the trails. The nearby residents who use these trails have requested this trail maintenance to allow good access to the Florida National Scenic Trail. We will need loppers and clippers to trim brush.
On May 13, we’ll finish any remaining trail work and repair the pedestrian gate and fence corner at Easter Drive and Forge Drive. The gate and fence corner were hit by a car and need their posts straightened up and new panels installed. I’ll have the tools we need for this job, so no need to bring tools.
Please wear sturdy shoes with closed toes and long pants. Sturdy leather work gloves are recommended. Please bring your own bug spray and drinking water.
We will meet at the gate on Ridge Manor Blvd. at Olancha at 9:00 AM, then move up to the gate at Easter Dr. and Forge to work. If you live on the north side of the preserve, just meet us at the gate at Easter Dr. and Forge as we will be joining you there.
Please let me know if you plan to attend. Please ask if you have questions.
Hope to see you there!
