In just the few short months, the accolades have rolled in for Marker 48 Brewing in Weeki Wachee, Florida.

In its January 2016 issue, Beer Advocate Magazine named Marker 48 Brewing among its “Class of 2015” list of “exceptional breweries that opened in 2015” in the United.  Only 33 breweries made the list out of over 500 new breweries that opened in the US in 2015.

“Red, Right, Return,” one of Marker 48’s core beers, won a bronze medal in the Irish Red category of the 2016 Best Florida Beer Championships, the first time the brewery entered.

And now, the seven-barrel craft brewery that opened its doors in November 2015 in Hernando County has been chosen to participate in the prestigious SAVOR: An American Craft Beer & Food Experience, recognized as the nation’s premier craft beer and food pairing event.

Taking place Friday, June 3, and Saturday, June 4, at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., SAVOR will feature distinctive craft beer and culinary creations from a diverse lineup of 76 small and independent craft breweries. In addition, guests will be able to mingle with the remarkable personalities behind the craft beers being served.

Marker 48 will represent with two of the beers created by award-winning brewmaster John Myers: Meet the Heat, a saison with raspberry, plums and chili peppers (6 % ABV); and Diepolder Dubbel, a Belgian-style dubbel (7.5 % ABV).

SAVOR is presented by the Brewers Association, the Boulder, Colorado-based not-for-profit trade association dedicated to small and independent American brewers, their beers and the community of brewing enthusiasts. Chef Adam Dulye, Brewers Association executive chef and co-author of’s Beer & Food Course, created the food pairing menu with collaboration from several world class chefs, Cicerones and Brewers Association staff.
