Free Class – Gardening for Butterflies and Other Pollinators
Residents are invited to attend a free class ”Gardening for Butterflies and Other Pollinators” on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at the West Hernando Library – 6335 Blackbird Ave., at 10:30am. The class will be presented by Florida-Friendly Landscaping Program Coordinator Lilly Browning. Learn the secrets to bringing a flutter of life to your yard. Nectar and host plants will be discussed along with other tips on how to bring butterflies and other pollinators to your landscape. Registration not necessary.

Residents are invited to attend a free class ”To Sod or Not to Sod?” on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at the Spring Hill Branch Library – 9220 Spring Hill Dr., at 10:30am. The class will be presented by Florida-Friendly Landscaping Program Coordinator Lilly Browning. Is your lawn taking a toll on your pocketbook and your sanity? Arm yourself with the best ways to establish and care for a lawn, as well as information on alternatives to turf that may save you money, time and aggravation. Registration not necessary.
Rain Barrel Workshop on October 19th at Spring Hill Library
Residents are invited to attend a Rain Barrel workshop on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 10:30. The Workshop will be held at the Spring Hill Branch Library – 9220 Spring Hill Dr. Florida-Friendly Landscaping Program Coordinator Lilly Browning will present the Rain Barrel Workshop
To attend the Rain Barrel Workshop you must pre-register and send $55 to HCUD – 15365 Cortez Blvd Cortez Blvd, Brooksville, FL 34613 by October 17th. Write “Rain Barrel Workshop October 19th” on the envelope. Hernando County Utilities Customers who attend the workshop and install a rain barrel at their home will receive at one-time credit on their water bill for $25. Please bring a vehicle that can accommodate a 50 gallon barrel.  Please call 352-540-6230 for more information.
