The class will be presented by Florida-Friendly Landscaping Program Coordinator, Lilly Browning. Frustrated with your landscape? Do you best intentions always end up less than stellar? In this class we will learn simple tips for attractive and healthy landscapes. Free class. No registration necessary.
Free Class – Your Florida Yard – A Newcomer’s Guide
 
Residents are invited to attend a free class, “Your Florida Yard – A Newcomer’s Guide” on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the Spring Hill Branch Library – 9220 Spring Hill Dr. at 10:30am. The class will be presented by Florida-Friendly Landscaping Program Coordinator, Lilly Browning. Whether you are new to ornamental gardening, or new to central Florida, this is the class for you! Everyone is invited to this back-to-basics class.

Free Class – Rude Guests in the Garden & In the Waters
 
Residents are invited to attend a free class, “Rude Guests in the Garden and In the Waters” on Friday, January 13, 2017 at the Chinsegut Conservation Center, 23212 Lake Lindsey Road, Brooksville, at 10:00am. The class will be presented by Florida-Friendly Landscaping Program Coordinator, Lilly Browning and Hernando County Sea Grant Agent, Brittany Hall-Scharf. Participants will learn about invasive exotic pest plants and fish that have invaded our area and are disrupting the native ecosystem. Things you can do to help will also be discussed.  Free class. No registration necessary.
Rain Barrel Workshop on January 25th

Residents are invited to attend a Rain Barrel workshop on Wednesday, January 25th, 2017 at 10:30. The Workshop will be held at the Hernando County Utilities Building (Former Tampa Bay Times Building) 15365 Cortez Blvd., Brooksville 34613. Florida-Friendly Landscaping Program Coordinator Lilly Browning will present the Rain Barrel Workshop.
To attend the Rain Barrel Workshop you must pre-register and send $55 to HCUD – 15635 Cortez Blvd, Brooksville, FL 34613. Write “Rain Barrel Workshop January 25th” on the envelope. Hernando County Utilities Customers who attend the workshop and install a rain barrel at their home will receive at one-time credit on their water bill for $25.
