Kids’ Fishing Clinics are one-day educational events established by the Outreach and Education section of the Division of Marine Fisheries Management, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Kids’ Fishing Clinics are free, one-day educational events for kids ages 5-15. At the clinics, the children go through five mandatory skill stations: Casting, Knot Tying, Fishing Tackle, Ethical Angling, and Touch Tank. After approximately one hour of instruction, children will receive a free rod and reel (compliments of local sponsors, while supplies last) and, if conditions allow, will have the opportunity to fish (catch and release only). All participants must be accompanied by an adult. Registration for the clinic will begin at 8:30am on the day of the event. Participants are encouraged to bring sunscreen, bag lunch, and water.
